Do you provide home care services for someone in a hospital, nursing home or assisted living facility?

Yes, we provide care services to people of all ages and abilities wherever they call home – this can be residential or facility-based, including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, and assisted living communities. We also offer transitional  Hospital to Home Care focused on safety, healing and recovery at home.

Do you only offer long-term care, or are there short-term care options?

Our flexible in-home care plans are determined by your needs, not a specific length of time. Whether you or your loved one need a little help or a lot, your local SYNERGY HomeCare team will work with you to create a plan of care customized to your individual situation. 

Do I have to sign a contract locking me into specific services?

No. SYNERGY HomeCare is here to meet your specific in-home care needs, and as your needs change, so will the services you receive. Our service agreement reflects this and adapts to meet changing needs.

How will I get matched with the right caregiver for my needs?

All of our caregivers have successfully completed SYNERGY HomeCare training, passed an extensive criminal background check, and are bonded and insured. Based on your customized plan of care, your caregiver is matched with your schedule requests, and the caregiver’s availability, skills, personality, and interests in order to provide you the in-home care experience that best meets your needs.

How long does it take to be assigned a caregiver?

We recommend that you schedule a no-obligation in-home assessment as proactively as possible, so we can establish a client profile, matching you or your loved one with the most readily available caregiver who can best support your customized plan of in-home care. Even in the most urgent situations, we strive to fill immediate in-home care needs as quickly as possible.

I am the person primarily responsible for my family member’s care. How will I be included or stay informed on how things are going after a SYNERGY HomeCare caregiver takes over providing care?

Family members play a critical role in developing the best plan of care, and maintaining an optimal in-home care experience for their loved one. We believe communication is key. Our client management system allows our caregiver to provide daily, real-time feedback on their client interactions. We will proactively share progress, observations and/or concerns directly with the responsible family member as often as needed, or requested.

Will my medical insurance help cover the cost of in-home care?

Contacting your local SYNERGY HomeCare office is a great place to start when you’re researching options on how to cover the cost of in-home care services. Our team can guide you, or the policyholder, on what questions to ask your insurance carrier regarding available coverage. There are several Long-Term Care insurance providers who offer full or supplemental reimbursement benefits for home care services. It’s important to know the questions to ask and we’re here to help.

Will my Medicare or Medicaid help cover the cost of in-home care?

Some Medicare Advantage plans may cover non-medical in-home care services depending on the plan. However, Medicaid reimbursement is based on financial need, and the rules on if and how much non-medical, in-home care services are covered are state-specific. Medicaid eligibility and benefits differ by state. Feel free to contact us for more information.

Will my VA benefits help cover the cost of in-home care?

We’re committed to providing veterans and their families with exceptional in-home care. And with the vast majority of our locations being contracted with the VA, we make it easy to use your VA benefits to get the quality in-home support you deserve. How does the billing and payments work?

Billing procedures can vary by method of invoicing, whether direct bill or reimbursement.  Your local SYNERGY HomeCare office will explain their billing procedures and available payment options at the time you establish your service agreement. Most SYNERGY HomeCare offices accept all major credit cards and offer electronic funds transfer options.

Is there any additional cost for your services I need to be aware of?

Our service agreement is clear and transparent, there are no hidden fees. The most typical additional cost you may incur is mileage when you ask your caregiver to run errands in their vehicle.

What if I have a concern and need to speak with someone after business hours?

Our local SYNERGY HomeCare team is available to answer questions or respond to your care needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

What if my loved one needs to relocate while receiving SYNERGY HomeCare services?

Whether they are moving across town, or across state lines, SYNERGY HomeCare can more than likely transition with them. With a network of over 450 local SYNERGY HomeCare offices across the nation, we can work with you or your loved one to establish continued in-home care services.
