It’s funny how life works, sometimes. David met a SYNERGY HomeCare owner when he was the private club GM. David and Monica reached out to SYNERGY HomeCare to learn more about what it’s like to own a home care franchise. Soon after that conversation, Monica and David became SYNERGY HomeCare owners in Lake Ridge.

Monica describes their working relationship as yin and yang as their skills complement each other well. Monica has a background in public affairs and community relations, was a Rotary Club of Washington, D.C. president, and as an Army brat, a candy striper at the 121st Evac Hospital in Seoul, Korea. David’s career as a private club GM is very similar to owning a home care agency. He describes the club members as “clients” and the staff as “caregivers.” He said it would be an easy transition from GM to home care owner, as his purpose is to serve and ensure clients are happy and caregivers are supported and treated well. They have found their home.

They are a thoughtful pair. Monica reflects on her long-time friends who are now caring for aging parents, a few whose parents have Alzheimer’s. Monica and David have a family member with autism and a family member living with Parkinson’s disease. They want to help people understand home care is for everyone, wherever home is. Something else that Monica has noticed is that people have a hard time asking for help. Both David and Monica encourage you to reach out to them for help. It’s healthy to do, and it’s good for the caregiver and the loved one. Getting past the fear of asking for help can be one of the most freeing things a family caregiver can do.

Their mantra is, “If you can be one thing in this world, be kind.” They live by this as they feel that in some way, we are all connected. When we give to others or help them somehow, they’re helping make the world a better place. They believe people remember your kindness and they, too, can pay it forward.

The Conroys hope that you will call them should someone in your family need care at home. They’d enjoy meeting you and making new friends as well as making your loved ones comfortable and happy in their home.

Meet David and Monica Conroy, owners of SYNERGY HomeCare of Lake Ridge. They’re a dedicated couple who care for their blended family and love traveling to other countries such as Vietnam, Korea, Japan and David’s homeland, Australia.

Monica and David have spent their lives caring for others in one way or another. Yes, that means family, but it also applies to their career choices.

David recently left his position as the general manager of a private club, which allowed him to review his life, determine what he cares about and how he could incorporate that into his next career move.
