SYNERGY HomeCare in Tinley Park is owned and operated by Landell “Dell” Smith, a South Chicago native, volunteer preacher, and experienced healthcare entrepreneur. After spending three decades preaching across Chicagoland and roughly 15 years working with seniors as a hearing instrument specialist, Dell turned to home care as a way to deepen his relationships with the area’s older adults and provide them with ongoing support.
Dell and his team of caregivers assist residents throughout Tinley Park and Orland Park with a range of services, including companion care, personalized in-home assistance, and specialized support for individuals managing chronic health conditions or recovering from illness or surgery.
SYNERGY HomeCare in Tinley Park provides a wide range of non-medical care options. Companion care includes assistance with cooking, shopping, running errands, light housekeeping, and other tasks that allow clients to live independently. Personal care assists with bathing, dressing, using the toilet, and other activities of daily life.

After graduating from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Dell’s job was originally as an insurance agent. However, after 14 years in the industry, Dell realized he preferred face-to-face, hands-on work that he couldn’t find behind a desk. This led him to the hearing healthcare field, where he has spent more than 15 years helping older adults with hearing aid assessments, speech recognition, auditory therapy, and instrument fitting. Today, Dell owns and operates his own hearing healthcare business.
Beyond his local business, Dell is also well-connected to the community thanks to his South Chicago roots, his work as a local preacher, and his involvement with a local service fraternity that coordinates philanthropic efforts throughout the Tinley Park area. As a graduate of Kenwood Academy High School, Dell has grown up with many of the families he now works with and has firsthand experience watching his hometown communities evolve.
