At the heart of SYNERGY HomeCare in Barboursville is Chris Lowe—a U.S. Army veteran, proud father of two, and someone who knows firsthand what it means to care for a loved one. After serving in Iraq, Chris returned home and earned a finance degree from Marshall University, followed by an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Ohio University. But his most meaningful education came later, when life threw him into the role of caregiver for his father.
Trying to juggle a career, parenting, and caregiving was overwhelming. Chris quickly learned how difficult it is to find compassionate, dependable in-home care when you need it most. That experience sparked a calling. Rather than settle for the lack of options, Chris decided to create the kind of care he wished he could have found—reliable, respectful, and rooted in empathy.
Today, Chris leads a dedicated team serving families across Cabell, Lincoln, Putnam, and Wayne counties. SYNERGY HomeCare offers a variety of non-medical services tailored to each individual’s needs, whether it’s companion care like light housekeeping, errands, or a friendly face to share the day with—or personal care, including help with bathing, dressing, and other daily activities. They also offer specialized support for those managing chronic health conditions or recovering from illness or surgery.
When he’s not running his business, Chris stays deeply connected to his community. He and his wife are active in local youth sports, lead groups in Trail Life USA and American Heritage Girls, and serve at Beulah Church, where Chris is an Elder and Treasurer. He has also worked with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Huntington, helping fellow veterans—especially those facing homelessness—get back on their feet.
Chris knows what it means to wear many hats: soldier, student, professional, father, caregiver, and community leader. That’s why every client at SYNERGY HomeCare is treated with the same dignity and care he wishes for his own father.
