Seeking Professional Caregivers with Specialty Care Experience
SYNERGY HomeCare of Portland is privileged to provide our clients in the Portland Metro area with a truly unique and personalized level of in-home care. In addition to providing exceptional companion and personal care, our Portland CareTEAM also offers our clients palliative care for chronic disease and illness, complex care for neurological disorders and mental illness, nurse delegation, and memory care for clients suffering from Alzheimer’s and all stages of dementia.
As such, we currently are looking to expand our team. We are seeking out care professionals with extensive experience in one or more of the following disciplines to care for several very special clients:
- Dementia
- Neurological Disease and Functional Disorders such as ALS, MS, and SCI (spinal cord injury or paralysis)
- Mental Diseases such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder
- Stroke Recovery, Aphasia, and TBI (traumatic brain injury)
The clients we are staffing for all reside in their own personal residences in the Portland Metro area. They are warm, accomplished individuals that live their lives to the fullest despite the challenges they face. Their families are hoping to find care professionals who will be the perfect addition to their daily lives to help each client with their own personalized care plans.
Day-to-day tasks may include ADLs such as bathing, personal grooming, ambulating and purposeful movement, and transferring as needed. Daily responsibilities may also include IADLs like medication management, nutrition oversight – which may include some grocery shopping and meal preparation, overseeing in-home therapy such as PT, OT, and SP (speech therapy), transportation with a caregiver to doctor or therapy appointments, or running errands, and in general, helping to create a safe environment to reduce the risk of falling.
The ideal CareTEAM candidate will be pleasant, very reliable, compassionate, detail oriented, and a care professional that is looking for a career path, not a job.
Our clients and their families would prefer non-smokers, simply due to these particular clients’ medical and/or respiratory conditions.
To be considered, you must have a minimum of 2-3 years of verifiable experience working as a caregiver, preferably with a specific focus in one of the above-mentioned disciplines.
Additional requirements:
- High school degree or GED
- Provide proof of citizenship or legal documentation to work in the US
- Able to speak, read, write, and text in English clearly
- Maintain a working smartphone, to text and log in to our company portal during every shift
- Must have and be able to provide proof of a valid driver’s license, have a clean reliable vehicle, provide current car registration, and proof of active car insurance
- Able to lift, push, and/or pull 50 pounds
Prior to hiring, the selected candidate must pass both a national and state background check, drug testing, and have all credentials, references and work history verified.
