SYNERGY HomeCare of Toms River is owned and operated by Ivie Omoruyi, a mother of three, a 23-year healthcare professional, and a dedicated family caregiver. After personal circumstances led Omoruyi to rely on professional caregiving services for her own family, she realized she had both the expertise and the passion to provide this assistance to the rest of her community.
Omoruyi and her team of caregivers assist residents throughout Ocean County, including the towns of Brick, Lakewood, and Toms River, offering a range of services such as companion care, personalized in-home assistance, postnatal care, post-surgical care, childcare and babysitting services, and specialized support for individuals managing chronic health conditions or recovering from illness or surgery.
Both professional and personal experiences shaped Omoruyi’s transition into home care. She began her professional caregiving journey after earning both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing. Over the past 23 years, she has worked in various healthcare settings as a registered nurse, certified nurse midwife, and advanced registered nurse practitioner. These roles provided her with a deep understanding of the needs of vulnerable populations, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, new mothers, and those recovering from medical procedures.
In her personal life, Omoruyi’s caregiving responsibilities began with the birth of her three children, one of whom has special needs. Her role as a caregiver intensified when her father was diagnosed with prostate cancer, requiring her to commute from New York to Boston to coordinate his care while balancing her career and motherhood. Experiencing firsthand the challenges of managing multiple caregiving responsibilities, she turned to professional caregivers for support—a role she now strives to provide for others in similar situations.
