Thanks for tuning in to our interview with Shay from Elderhub. Our goal today is to highlight safe practices for medication therapy. Too often\u00a0as providers we have seen patients on multiple medications, some of which either singularly or in conjunction with another, have caused harm to the patient. We hope from this podcast you are able to extract some fundamental takeaways to make sure your loved one is not a victim of medication mismanagement.
\nElderhub by Shay was conceived as a way to empower the lay person to care for their loved one in a fully informed and supportive manner. While we will only discuss medications today, many more aspects of aging are addressed, including medical conditions, home health and communicating with their PCP.
\nLet’s see what all the hype is about with polypharmacy, which drugs to dodge if at all possible and how to address these concerns if we see that there may be improvements to be made (under the supervision of their doctor\/provider).
