SYNERGY HomeCare of Edwardsville is owned and operated by Heather Woodard, a public relations veteran who brings a lifetime of caregiving and a passion for community service to her newfound journey in the home care industry.
Heather and her team of caregivers provide residents in Madison County with a comprehensive range of short-term and long-term care options. These include companion care, personalized in-home assistance, childcare and specialized support for individuals managing chronic health conditions or recovering from illness or surgery.
Heather’s journey to becoming a SYNERGY HomeCare franchisee is deeply personal. Inspired by her mother, a dedicated healthcare professional; her grandmother, who received compassionate home care in her final years; and her fiancé’s lifelong interest in caregiving, Heather’s passion for helping others became a calling. That calling grew even stronger after she faced a traumatic incident that left her with third-degree burns, requiring extensive in- and out-patient care and therapy. The experience gave her a firsthand appreciation for the vital role caregivers play in someone’s recovery and quality of life.
As the oldest of three siblings, Heather has been a natural caregiver all her life, a role she embraced with pride and responsibility. A Kansas City, MO native and graduate of the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Public Relations, she spent over 20 years representing some of the world’s most iconic brands like McDonalds. Now, she’s using that storytelling expertise and her deep commitment to community service as a proud member of the Edwardsville chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, an international service organization, to make a difference in the lives of others through SYNERGY HomeCare.
Heather sees this new chapter as a way to combine her leadership skills and passion for uplifting others into something truly impactful. She’s excited to embark on this rewarding journey with her family, team and the clients they’re privileged to serve, bringing care, compassion and connection to Madison County.
SYNERGY HomeCare of Edwardsville provides a wide range of non-medical, in-home care options. Companion care includes assistance with cooking, shopping, running errands, light housekeeping and other tasks that allow clients to live independently. Personal care provides assistance with bathing, dressing, using the toilet and other activities of daily life.
