Jo Huey, an Alzheimer\u2019s caregiver for over 30 years, has created what she calls \u201cThe 10 Absolutes of Alzheimer\u2019s Caregiving.\u201d She shares more stories of her experiences in her book \u201cAlzheimer\u2019s Disease: Help and Hope.\u201d\u00a0 The 10 Absolutes provide practical yet compassionate strategies for family caregivers to implement that are based on her personal experience.     In a nutshell; be understanding, attuned, and constantly aware of your loved one\u2019s condition. It may be difficult to remember at times, but their mentally deteriorated state is not really \u201cthem,\u201d and their misconceptions due to their condition are not their fault.<\/p>\n

    Though more difficult in practice than in theory, when caregiving for Alzheimer\u2019s patients \u2013 it always helps to remember the golden rule.<\/p>\n
