Our Co-Owner Sue McCormick got a chance to see what it was like to have our caregivers in her own home after her mom Ruth moved to Atlanta to spend the last several weeks of her life with Sue and her family.<\/p>\n
Sue took the time to reflect on what her experience was like and how seeing the caregivers in action changed her perspective by showing her the unbelievable difference they can make in the home with their loving care.<\/span><\/p>\n In the beginning, the Synergy Home Care North Atlanta Co-Owner was reserved about having her own employees in her home for two reasons. <\/strong><\/p>\n They would be nervous about working for their boss<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n <\/span>They would not meet her own expectations and Sue would become her own worst client.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Sue said that having her own caregivers in her home meant the world to her. \u201cI\u00a0was blown away at how attentive all of them were to my Mom, even when she was being difficult, and how detailed the notes were that they kept. \u00a0I immediately began trying to figure out ways that we could pay our caregivers more than what they are making and\u00a0remain profitable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Sue admitted, \u201cI\u00a0made some assumptions about our caregivers sitting way more than they actually had to be working. \u00a0Although there is downtime, the need to always be alert and ready for when your client needs you is exhausting.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n She added, \u201cthe constant pain that some of our clients are\u00a0experiencing can make them highly irritable and agitated and watching our caregivers take that in stride was a lesson in patience and humility.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n \u201cOur caregivers are truly amazing and do incredible work not only for our clients but with the way they treat and interact with our families. \u00a0They are truly gifted people that we are blessed to employ.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n Ruth H. McLeod passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 in Alpharetta, Georgia in Sue\u2019s home surrounded by her children. Ruthie found joy in her life as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and in her many friendships. She was an avid golfer and tennis player at Madison Country Club. She was a hardworking and dedicated matriarch to her family who she cherished. Ruthie was gifted in fostering each of her children abilities and encouraged them to pursue their dreams. Ruth was happiest when she was with her children and grandkids, especially on the many occasions that they all could be together.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Sue is incredibly grateful that her own employees and her own company were able to help her and her family in a time of grief. Our caregivers allowed Ruthie to be surrounded by her children during her final few days and have an everlasting impact on the family.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n\n
