For the July Selfie campaign, Synergy HomeCare will donate five dollars to the Alzheimer&#8217;s Association for the first 1,000 Senior Selfies posted on our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SynergyHomeCareNorthAtlanta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook page<\/a>!<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><strong>Sue, Layla, and Andrea of Synergy HomeCare North Atlanta set up a photo booth with fun props for the members of the community to take selfies with. The team had an absolute blast interacting with the residents of Cottonwood Estates and couldn&#8217;t wait to show off their Senior Selfies!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The campaign is designed to help seniors connect with their loved ones on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SynergyHomeCareNorthAtlanta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> and seniors are encouraged to use the hashtags #SeniorSelfie and #EndALZ on their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/SynergyHomeCareNorthAtlanta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> posts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIn the late stages of Alzheimer\u2019s disease, people lose the ability to smile,\u201d said Cara Stein, a spokesperson for Synergy HomeCare. \u201cSYNERGY HomeCare wants to save their smiles and their memories by raising awareness and money for continued research into this growing epidemic.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', Times, serif; font-size: 21px;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Alzheimer\u2019s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer&#8217;s care, support and research.\u00a0 Their mission is to eliminate Alzheimer&#8217;s disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alzheimer\u2019s disease is a degenerative brain disease and the most common form of dementia. Dementia is not a specific disease. It&#8217;s an overall term that describes a group of symptoms.\u00a0<\/strong>Worldwide, 50 million people are living with Alzheimer&#8217;s and other dementias.
