SYNERGY HomeCare is thrilled to spotlight Savannah, a compassionate and dedicated caregiver who recently joined our rockstar team. With 10 years of experience in caregiving, Savannah brings not only expertise but also a heartfelt connection to her work.
Savannah’s journey into caregiving began with her grandparents, who inspired her to pursue this meaningful career. She reflects, “I’ve always had the heart for caregiving.” Her personal experience shaped her philosophy: to treat every client with the same love and respect she would offer her own family.
For Savannah, communication is the cornerstone of excellent caregiving. “You have to let the client know what you are going to do before you do it,” she explains. Her approach fosters trust and understanding, even in challenging moments. When a client becomes combative, Savannah doesn’t force the situation. Instead, she gives them space and patiently tries again.
Her secret? A soft voice, a warm smile, and kind body language. “The client may not always understand what you’re saying, but they can read your body language and will calm down and relax” she notes. Savannah’s calm demeanor and genuine smile reassure her clients and help them feel safe and cared for.
Savannah also makes sure to prioritize rest so she can be the best version of herself for her clients. It’s easy to overlook your own needs when your job is caring for others and Savannah knows her time to recharge lets her be the best version of herself for her clients.
Savannah’s outlook is simple but profound: “That could be my grandpa or parent.” It’s this perspective that sets her apart, making every interaction with her clients deeply personal and full of respect. She is passionate about making sure each and every client gets the care they need. One client’s spouse even said they didn’t know what they would do without her and joked they wanted to adopt her!
