Free Program for Stroke Survivors


We recently came across this amazing FREE program for Stroke Survivors.  These are non-credit, no-fee classes.  The classes are taught by licensed speech-language therapists and the groups meet for 2-3 hours.   If interested, contact information is below.

STROKE SURVIVOR – COMMUNICATION CLASS (DSPS 4033) 

Class is designed to assist stroke survivors improve overall communication skills in a group setting.

Tasks include structured listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises, as well as informal conversational activities.

Participants are grouped according to ability.

Classes are taught by licensed speech pathologists.

 

Where:        John Adams Center

                    1860 Hayes St., Room 108

          (drop-off:  corner of Grove & Ashbury)

                   

When:         Mondays     10:00 – 12:00 a.m.                    Class A

                    Tuesdays     12:30 – 2:30 p.m.                      Class B

                    Thursdays    1:00 – 3:30 p.m.       Computer Lab-Room 105

                    Fridays       10:00 – 12:00 a.m.                    Class C

 

Where:        Stonestown YMCA Senior Annex

                    3120 – 20th Avenue, San Francisco

When:         Thursdays  9:45 – 11:45 a.m.
