SYNERGY HomeCare in Milpitas is owned and operated by Augustine Attah, a certified phlebotomist who has spent the majority of his professional career working in and around San Jose’s most prestigious medical facilities. After helping his late father navigate his own aging journey, Augustine knew that the home care industry was an area where he could use his professional experience to do the most good for his community.
Augustine and his team of caregivers assist residents throughout Northern San Jose and Milpitas with a range of services, including companion care, personalized in-home assistance, and specialized support for individuals managing chronic health conditions or recovering from illness or surgery.
After attending Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, Augustine went straight to work in the South Bay’s medical community as a Certified Phlebotomist II. As a phlebotomist, Augustine was tasked with collecting and analyzing samples from patients recovering from a wide array of debilitating illnesses and conditions. Although Augustine took joy in identifying the causes of patients’ discomfort, his real source of passion was the recovery part of the process.
Augustine knew that in the home care industry, helping with recovery could be a much more integral part of his day-to-day schedule; however, it wasn’t until he helped his own father age-in-place that he decided to take the leap and change careers. Augustine’s father lived to be 115 years old, and Augustine was a critical part of his centenary years. The time he spent watching his father progress in both age and wisdom gave him a genuine appreciation for helping older people, specifically, and that ultimately led him towards home care.
SYNERGY HomeCare in Milpitas provides a wide range of non-medical care options. Companion care includes assistance with cooking, shopping, running errands, light housekeeping, and other tasks that allow clients to live independently. Personal care assists with bathing, dressing, using the toilet, and other activities of daily life.
