SYNERGY HomeCare in Livermore is owned and operated by Vivian Mendoza, a University of Phoenix business graduate who began her career in social services as a volunteer reserve police officer, before entering corporate America as a security project manager. Along the way, Vivian navigated many of the challenges typical for sandwich generation adults, caring for both her mother and child, which deepened her appreciation for caregiving.
Vivian and her team of caregivers assist residents throughout Livermore, Tracy, and Mountain House with a range of services, including companion care, personalized in-home assistance, and specialized support for individuals managing chronic health conditions or recovering from illness or surgery.
Despite the incredible pressure that became part of her day-to-day job, Vivian’s biggest challenges were found at home. As an only child, she was the sole caregiver of her late mother while she battled cancer, which she also balanced with her caregiving duties as a mother to a child living with special needs. Before she looked into professional caregiving services, Vivian regularly experienced the isolation and overwhelming confusion of being a family caregiver with no outside guidance or assistance.
SYNERGY HomeCare in Livermore provides a wide range of non-medical care options. Companion care includes assistance with cooking, shopping, running errands, light housekeeping, and other tasks that allow clients to live independently. Personal care assists with bathing, dressing, using the toilet, and other activities of daily life.

Vivian’s professional career has been defined by her attention to detail and ability to handle high-pressure scenarios. As a volunteer police officer, she gained firsthand experience in de-escalating critical situations, which is a skill she later leveraged in the security sector of corporate America. Since then, she has managed millions of dollars’ worth of critical assets and infrastructure, while establishing clear parameters and developing strategic plans to drive successful outcomes for her team and clients.
Vivian’s security expertise is further reinforced by her numerous industry certifications. She is a licensed security guard trainer and a Crime Prevention Specialist accredited through California Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). She is also an active member of ASIS International and the Silicon Valley Security Group, a local non-profit security organization.
