{"id":786,"date":"2025-04-29T15:45:41","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T15:45:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/synergyhomecare.com\/ca-corona-92881\/?p=786"},"modified":"2025-04-30T18:29:44","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T18:29:44","slug":"signs-alzheimers-disease","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/synergyhomecare.com\/ca-corona-92881\/knowledge-center\/signs-alzheimers-disease\/","title":{"rendered":"Important Signs of Alzheimer\u2019s Disease &#8211; CORONA\/RIVERSIDE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Gabrielle Brackett, MS, MPH\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Imagine that your elderly loved one suddenly becomes noticeably forgetful, struggles to complete a conversation, or even appears confused about what may be considered simple, everyday knowledge\u2014their family members, the time, their location, even their own identity.<\/p>\n<p>Before laughing it off, becoming annoyed, or even merely brushing the issue aside, thinking, \u201cPoor Mom, old age is catching up to her\u2026\u201d Don\u2019t dismiss the possibility that it could be something more\u2014it\u2019s important to recognize the signs of Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n<p>Alzheimer\u2019s disease is a \u201cprogressive, degenerative disorder that attacks the brain&#8217;s nerve cells, or neurons, resulting in loss of memory, thinking and language skills, and behavioral changes.\u201d It\u2019s the most common cause of dementia (loss of intellectual function) among people age 65 and older.<\/p>\n<p>Alzheimer\u2019s disease is not a normal part of aging. It is difficult to distinguish between the first signs of Alzheimer\u2019s disease and typical age-related changes that your parent or other loved one may endure.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, a cure for Alzheimer\u2019s disease has not been found. However, executing preventative measures early on may help your loved one feel comfortable, safe, and at ease when living with Alzheimer\u2019s. The sooner the symptoms are recognized and the sooner an accurate diagnosis is made, the easier it is to manage symptoms and plan for the future. Ten early warning signs of<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alzheimer\u2019s include:<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Memory changes that disrupt daily life<br \/>\n2. Challenges in planning or solving problems<br \/>\n3. Difficulty completing familiar tasks<br \/>\n4. Confusion with time or place<br \/>\n5. Trouble understanding visual images and spatial relationships<br \/>\n6. New problems with words in speaking or writing<br \/>\n7. Misplacing things and losing the ability to retrace steps<br \/>\n8. Decreased or poor judgment<br \/>\n9. Withdrawal from work or social activities<br \/>\n10. Changes in mood and personality<\/p>\n<p>Today, an estimated 5.4 million individuals are living with Alzheimer\u2019s\u2014the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. Organizations such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alz.org\/\">Alzheimer\u2019s Association<\/a> recognize the severity of Alzheimer\u2019s disease.
