Nearly 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer\u2019s disease, which is a \u201ctype of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking, and behavior. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time, becoming severe enough to interfere with daily tasks,\u201d according to the Alzheimer\u2019s Association<\/a>. One in three seniors dies with Alzheimer\u2019s or another form of dementia. Alzheimer\u2019s disease kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined, according to the Alzheimer\u2019s Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Are you caring for your senior parent or loved one living with Alzheimer\u2019s disease or dementia? \u201cMore than 16 million Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer\u2019s disease or other dementias. These caregivers provided an estimated 18.5 billion hours of care valued at nearly $234 billion,\u201d according to the Alzheimer\u2019s Association<\/a>. In California, more than 1.6 million caregivers provided more than 1.8 billion hours of unpaid care. Compared with caregivers of people without dementia, twice as many caregivers of those with dementia indicate emotional, financial, and physical difficulties.<\/p>\n
