OUR PARKINSON’S DISEASE CARE SERVICES

We provide a wide range of services to support individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease, including:

  • Medication Management – We understand the importance of taking Parkinson’s medications at the correct time.  Levodopa is the most effective medication for treating the symptoms of the disease.  There are various forms of the medication.  Caregivers can help ensure that all medications are taken properly and at the appropriate time.  The Parkinson’s Foundation provides a guide to understand medications prescribed for Parkinson’s.
  • Emotional Support – Caregivers provide companionship and emotional support for those living with the challenges caused by Parkinson’s Disease.  They are often the first to recognize the mood and physical changes caused when Levodopa has worn off.
  • Exercise Assistance –  Daily movement and activity is important for all of us, but particularly for those living with the disease.  Studies have shown that a number of exercises are helpful for slowing the progression of the disease, helping cognitive function, and improving quality of life.  Exercise can also improve strength and balance, reducing fall risk. Caregivers can assist with exercise routines.  The Parkinson’s Foundation promotes Fitness Fridays, a great exercise series.
  • Non-Motor Symptoms –  Our caregivers receive training to recognize and assist with non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s including difficulty swallowing, fatigue, hallucinations, anxiety, depression, dementia, breathing problems, and sleep issues.
  • Safety Supervision – Caregivers assist with daily activities that involve higher levels of fall risk including showering, toileting, and walking in and outside of the home.  The training includes home safety and fall prevention.

  • Respite Care for Families – Spouses and children often provide daily support for loved ones living with Parkinson’s Disease.  This can be physically and emotionally draining for anyone.  Caregivers provide respite and help family members maintain the relationship they desire.

Testimonial from the Spouse of Another Parkinson’s Client

“I want to tell you of a wonderful home care business called Synergy Home Care. Synergy is very easy business to work with they are kind and considerate of your feeling always want to help you. My husband has Parkinson’s and this was the first time we have had to have help in this way. We knew we needed help and Lisa and Randy the owners jumped right into to help us feel comfortable on getting the information we needed to make a decision, and believe me we had lots of questions. We have had there service since the end of April 2019, and have had 2 caregiver that have brought so much love and understanding and help to us. I don’t know where they were able to get such great employees but we are grateful that we have had them. I can tell you from experience that trying to get a long term care company to help you get started in home care isn’t easy. Thank heaven for Synergy. I would differently recommend them for your long term care solutions.” – Wendie B., Tucson, AZ.
