Our COVID-19 Policy
At SYNERGY HomeCare our number one priority is always the safety and well-being of our clients and caregivers. SYNERGY HomeCare practices safety measures issued by the CDC, OSHA, and state and local health departments to ensure the health and well-being of our clients and caregivers. These measures include temperature checks, providing our staff with appropriate personal protective equipment, instruction on frequent hand washing, maintaining social distancing when applicable, and the sanitization of your home. Additional practices may exist based on state or local regulations.
All SYNERGY HomeCare locations are independently owned and operated and are responsible for monitoring and complying with applicable safety measures in effect in the communities they serve.
What brings you to SYNERGY HomeCare of Farmington?

You probably have a loved one—most likely an aging parent— who needs non-medical home care. We’ve been in your shoes. We understand and can help. We’ll make you the family hero by providing compassionate home care for your loved one. Your family will appreciate your due diligence in selecting the right choice in home care.
Or is it you who needs home care?
You don’t want your adult children to be burdened with your need for some extra help with the day-to-day. Or maybe you don’t have any relatives nearby. Learn more here.
The good news is that our experience in-home care is extensive and we care for your loved one with the compassion that we’d give our own family member. We’ll even bet we share the same mantra: family first.
Our secret sauce is key to our success
No matter who in your family needs some help at home, our secret sauce is what we are praised for, time and again. It's a mixture of compassion, love, empathy and continuity of experienced care infused with strong communication, whether we’re with your loved one for a couple of hours or a 24/7 live-in arrangement.
If you’re shopping around for in-home care for a parent or loved one, you’re probably a little stressed about the process. And quite possibly tired of every home care agency telling you “we’re the best.” It’s hard. Be sure to have prospective agencies explain their secret sauce!

You are not alone
According to a Gallup-Healthways study, more than 1 in 6 Americans working full-time or part-time report assisting with the care of an elderly or disabled family member, relative or friend. Family caregivers indicated that this assistance significantly affected their work life. Adult children don't want their parents having to leave their home due to age-related illness or impairment. Many family caregivers spend more than 25 hours a week — in addition to their outside job and managing their household/family — caring for elderly parents and family members.
With someone else to take care of daily caregiving needs, family members (that's you!) can return to simply enjoying their relationship with an aging parent. Instead of feeling overburdened and guilty, time together can be spent creating new and recalling old memories.
Best thing you’ll do today
Most people who are new at this, like you perhaps, approach us because they have an aging parent who needs in-home help. If that’s why you’re here, we recommend that you download this free guide on elder caregiving, “Where to Begin.” It will answer most of your questions and help you define a go-forward strategy.

We’ll prove how good we are
While we do believe that our agency is a smart choice for non-medical in-home care, we’d like to prove it to you, in real-time, and we begin that journey with an in-home care and safety assessment that costs you nothing. It's a good opportunity for you to learn about us as an agency and as caring professionals, as it involves our care team meeting with you and any other involved family members, and of course, your loved one, if you desire.

The in-home visit:
We do a little detective work
Basically, we learn everything we can about your loved one—when they take their prescription medicine /dosage to what their favorite foods are to habits, limitations and so on. A home safety inspection is performed to identify potential safety hazards. We gather information about what you expect from caregiving so that we can meet, or exceed your expectations. And, a key part of our care is communication with you so that you can have the peace of mind knowing that your loved one is well cared for. We'll be sure to ask you to identify any problems, special needs, strengths, weaknesses and resources, as well as evaluate your loved one's:
- medications and dosing
- medical history
- physical abilities
- cognitive abilities
- social assessment
- safety issues within the home
- short and long term goals
- communication methods and expectations
The top ranking benefits
of our assessment
The benefit that towers above all others is the peace of mind that you feel from knowing you've finally initiated care for the person who may have spent a lifetime caring for you. And some argue that they are more excited at the cost savings of home care versus an assisted living facility or nursing home. Most of our clients indicate they feel so much better from the peace of mind we offer, but they’re equally as happy about saving a lot of money by using in-home care.

Something that seems to be a sensitive topic for some adult children, is breaking the news to their aging parents that they need in-home care. We work with you to help with the message delivery to your parents, as we’ve done it so often, that we understand the process an older person goes through when they believe they are losing their independence and others are beginning to control them. We know the right words, the explanations and the logic to convey to make this a smooth transition—just another benefit of home care. PSST—What assisted living, rehab and nursing home facilities don’t want you to know
In-home care is a cost-effective way for loved ones recuperating from a hospital stay or who, because of a functional or cognitive disability, are unable to fully take care of themselves. In fact, post-hospital patients who receive home care services are less likely to be readmitted for hospitalization.
And the little secret about in-home care that you'll never hear from an assisted living facility or nursing home: one on one, individual care is given by in-home caregivers, not one caregiver for every 12 patients, like their facilities. Think about that!
The beauty of in-home care is that it reinforces and supports care provided by family members and friends, while your loved one maintains their dignity and independence—and morale.
We’re great at long-distance relationships
Are you coordinating caregiving from out of town? When you are confident that your home care provider is top notch in both caregiving and communication, there’s a certain peace of mind that accompanies that confidence. It may even help you sleep at night. We are there when you can’t be.
We have “The Calling”
Our success speaks for us. We are proud of our reputation. Having a career, or as we say, ‘passion,’ where we help make others’ lives better through our compassionate home care is why we are happily engaged in the calling of in-home care.

We’ll make you the family hero
If your siblings and other family have appointed you as the designated home care detective, we will make you the family hero.by providing the most complete details of what home care entails, why it works and how it will enrich your loved one’s quality of life. You’ll be able to share a blueprint of care with your siblings and family.

Client Testimonials
"I wanted to let you know that your services have been invaluable to us during the last several months. With the downturn in the economy, my brother and I have both had to find work and move our families to other States. We are fortunate that we are able to do so. And we are also grateful that Mom will now move to be near me. You and you staff did a great job of working with Mom during the transition. She was very reluctant at first to let anyone help her. But she soon warmed up to Jeannine and accepted her assistance with many things. It's been a great comfort to us all to know that Jeannine is there to help check on things, remind her about medicine, drive her places, and help with the cleaning and everyday activities. One unexpected gift resulting from your services has been the progress that Mom and Jeannine have made in preparing for the move. On my last visit I found that they had sorted through many of her closets and cupboards and gotten rid of things that Mom no longer wants or needs. Mom's energy level for this type of activity is very low (so is mine!). But they made great progress together. And I can't tell you what a help that is to Mom and our family. It has provided Mom with the satisfaction that she could make these decisions herself, in a non-pressurred state. And it has helped us concentrate on the other aspects of her move. Thanks you so much for the personal care and attention to Mom's needs. You have kept me well informed during our time together. And you've always been willing to talk with fellow service providers, including Mom's new community of care. Having your help has relieved me of more worries than I care to count. Thanks again for a job well done with a caring heart!"

When necessary, the management team has stepped in themselves and provided care services. Having these home care services has made a positive quality of life difference for my mother and her family. "SYNERGY HomeCare is an amazing service! I have been using caregivers from Synergy to care for my 12 year old special needs son and my 6 year old daughter for five years. My children LOVE the caregivers that Synergy has sent to us. I have so much trust and respect for the caregivers that when I travel for work, I can 100% focus on accomplishing whats in front of me versus having anxiety about whats going on at home. They are professional, communication is open, they always follow direction thoroughly, they are PROMPT and flexible. My kids love them because they are attentive, friendly, consistent, caring and can play all the games on the Wii. I've had a caregiver for my kids all of their life and know how hard it can be to find someone that has all the right qualities. Finding Synergy HomeCare has truly been a blessing for me and my kids and I am thankful. "

"Thank you so much for your prompt response to my need for caregivers for my husband John. On very short notice, you responded and had a caregiver the next day. Your complete dedication and concern for our needs has been very much appreciated. We are now into the fifth week of care and everything is working out very well. John is very content with the two caregivers that we now have, as am I. I feel confident that this arrangement will be perfect and will continue to provide John the care he needs, as well as the very personal, calm care giving that we have now experienced. Julie and Fernando are so helpful and thoughtful, it makes this very difficult time for me and my children easier to go through. And needless to say, their bonding with John and support has made his journey at this time less stressful. We are happy with the service you provide and feel very comfortable in discussing our specific needs at anytime. "

"I am so pleased with Synergy HomeCare and their caregivers. Julies skills and kindness in caring for our Aunt has made a real difference in the quality of our Aunt's life and has been very much appreciated by the family. When our elderly Aunt began to show symptoms of dementia, we were very concerned about her well being. She is a strong, independent woman who did not want to leave her home and had no interest in having strangers around to help her with daily life. After months of trying to convince her, she finally agreed to a few hours of care a day. Luckily, we were referred to Synergy HomeCare and Julie was assigned as one of her caregivers. Julie quickly established herself with our Aunt as a friend and over a few months, we were able to transition her to 24 hour care with Synergy.
Knowing that our Aunt is in the capable care of Julie and another wonderful caregiver Barb, has been a real relief to the family. They both make that extra effort to keep our Aunt active and happy. They often work with her on crossword and jigsaw puzzles, scrabble and other games. Before she had home care her age and condition was severely limiting her activities. Now Julie and Barb make sure she gets out of the house often for shopping, walks, picnics, bingo and even community concerts. Her condition seems to have improved, or at least stabilized. With the consistent companionship, she is eating well again and getting exercise.
Julie and Barb make a special effort to keep the family informed and even send us cute pictures and messages about their activities. They always seem pleased to be working with our Aunt and consistently talk to her and about her in a caring and gentle way. We very much appreciate the caring attention our Aunt has received from Julie, Barb and the Synergy Staff. "
